The Metamorphoses of Guernica
The Metamorphoses of Guernica provides a unique immersion into the heart of one of the major masterpieces of the 20th century. This experience traces the history of Pablo Picasso’s monumental painting, from its commission for the 1937 International Exhibition in Paris to its emergence as an iconic symbol of peace. The story unfolds through the alternating first-person narratives of Spanish Republican delegate Juan Larrea and Surrealist artist Dora Maar. Through Maar's extraordinary photographs, audiences witness the creation of a masterpiece that is both profoundly real and beyond realism. This work was co-produced by Lucid Realities, the Musée national Picasso-Paris, and VIVE Arts.
